Quentin Tarantino's "Pulp Fiction" Chevy Malibu, stolen from set in '94, recovered in 2013
VICTORVILLE, Calif. - Director Quentin Tarantino's classic 1964 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu was stolen from the set of the movie Pulp Fiction in 1994.
Fast forward 19 years, to 2013 - the cherry red classic car driven by John Travolta's character, Vince Vega, has been recovered by investigators, CBS Los Angeles reports.
Don't you love happy endings?
A San Bernardino County sheriff's deputy found two men stripping the car in Victorville, Calif., just miles from Hollywood, on April 18.
The deputy ran the VIN number on the car and discovered it linked to a vehicle in Oakland.
Then police in Oakland looked into it and realized the number had been cloned and the car was, in fact, Tarantino's.
The man who owned the vehicle is not believed to be connected with the theft.
It was unclear if Chevy Malibu had been returned to Tarantino.

Weekly Car Tip: Properly Adjusting Your Mirrors
It's time for our weekly car tip! Do you know the proper way to adjust your side mirrors?
While most people feel more comfortable with their car in view of the mirrors, it's best to adjust them so that the side of your car is just outside of the perspective. This allows for best visibility in the blind danger areas.
This infographic shows you exactly what we mean.

Can Chevy’s new Cruze Diesel help change the negative perception of diesel cars in U.S.?
The new Chevrolet Cruze Clean Turbo Diesel could prompt more Americans to consider buying a diesel who might not have ever considered it as an option before.
While widely popular outside of the U.S. market, a lot of Americans probably still have a negative view of diesel vehicles despite being aware of the potential fuel savings.
Even with all the advancements made in the technology, the image of pulling up to a light and hearing a truck rumbling with a diesel badge is probably a more accurate picture of what a lot of middle Americas think of diesel cars.
I’d be willing to bet that many American consumers have no idea that luxury car makers now offer diesel-powered sedans in the U.S. And if they do, it probably means little considering that the cars are out of their price range.
I’m not even sure that a lot of Americans know that Volkswagen offers a very affordable diesel in the U.S.
However, with a starting price just under $26,000 and an estimated EPA-of 46 MPG on the highway, the diesel technology tied with a highly-recognized American nameplate like Chevrolet could change that.
Available in some U.S. cities in early Spring, the new 2014 Chevrolet Cruze Clean Turbo Diesel is powered by a 2.0L turbo-diesel engine that gets an estimated 148 horsepower (110 kW) and estimated 258 lb-ft of torque (350 Nm).
The diesel model, which generates 90 percent less Nitrogen Oxide (NOx) and particulate emissions when compared to previous-generation diesels, also has an advanced overboost feature that helps to increase torque to 280 lb-ft (380 Nm) for stronger acceleration in driving situations like entering freeway traffic.
Equipped with a six-speed automatic transmission, the Cruze Diesel has an estimated range of 700 highway miles on one tank of diesel fuel based on the EPA highway estimate and the vehicle’s fuel tank capacity.
The new 2014 Chevrolet Cruze Clean Turbo Diesel, which Chevy claims has the best EPA-of any other non-hybrid passenger car in America, has an estimated range of 700 highway miles on one tank of gas.
That’s about 10 hours of highway driving, which I suspect will spark a lot more interest in clean diesel technology in the U.S.

We have
purchased our vechicles from Bob Brown Chevrolet and just recently we
had to buy a new one. We received great Customer Service. Brought our
car in to service in the morning to be looked at. Too costly to fix. By
that evening we were driving a new vehicle home. Everyone went above and
beyond to help us. We are now in the process of purchasing a vehicle
for our daughter. Our Salesman Art Miller did a lot of extra leg work to
get us a vehicle that fit our needs and our budget.

Chevrolet designs new Impala emblem
This month, General Motors Co. debuts its revamped 2014 Chevrolet Impala sedan and with it, a refreshed emblem—a first in almost 20 years.
The vehicle's long-horned, silver African antelope logo has had only a handful of alterations during its almost five-decade run. The new look accents muscle, agility and speed, said Joann Kallio, lead creative designer for Chevrolet global brand identity, as the auto maker attempts to market the car as a more luxurious vehicle.
"We are trying to reflect an elegant
simplicity while tying in the crispness of the lines running across the
exterior of the vehicle," said Ms. Kallio, who handled the emblem's
update, which was a process that took almost a year. "The vehicle has a
much more muscular stance and we wanted to bring those cues from the
vehicle into the emblem."
The Impala, which first rolled onto American roadways in October 1957, is one of only two models in the GM portfolio to have its own emblem. (The other is the Corvette.) For the first 30 years, the Impala emblem remained relatively untouched until the vehicle's demise in 1985.
GM reversed its decision in 1994 and revived the Impala nameplate. The work of injecting new life into the emblem fell to Anne-Marie LaVerge-Webb, who now oversees GM's brand identities in North America. At that time, Ms. Webb said, the goal was to give the emblem a more sculpted look emphasizing the contours of the body and moving it away from a static flat look of the past.
Today, Impala designer John Cafaro said the logo was basically put on a fitness program. "It looks more buffed and chiseled," Mr. Cafaro said.

"In the shoulder area (1) and the lower belly (2) we gave more definition," Ms. Kallio said. "The shoulder also has a definitive line so you actually see where the shoulder falls. There is a beveled and sharper edge in the area behind the front leg (3) and more defined lines on the back leg (4). The goal here was to emphasize the sleeker look of the new Impala compared with its predecessor models."
Ms. Kallio and Ms. Webb also pointed out the Impala emblem has always been an interpretation rather than an exact replica of the animal, so designers could play up the muscularity and speed.
The emblem, which appears on both sides of the vehicle on the rear top panels is always positioned pointing toward the front of the vehicle so the Impala is seen as running forward. "There was some discussion about not putting the emblem back on the exterior," added Mr. Cafaro, "but when we looked at it without it, we knew something was missing. It's that piece of jewelry the vehicle needs." While the animal may have changed, the Impala design team decided to keep the oval (5) Ms. Webb introduced to the logo in 1994. Until that time, the antelope was either seen sailing over flags, leaping on its own, dashing through a circle or jumping through a spokelike symbol that almost resembled a target. "We chose the thick and thin oval to replace the circle because it portrays a sense of movement," Ms. Webb said. "It also provides a more contemporary look."

Manchester United Signs New Sponsorship With Aon; Chevrolet To Sponsor Club's Jersey in 2014
English Premier League (EPL) soccer club, Manchester United, has agreed to a new, eight-year sponsorship partnership with Aon, selling the naming rights to the team's training facilities.
The deal, believed to be worth an estimated £15 million per season ($2,229,680 US per year), gives the risk management and insurance company naming rights to the team's Carrington training ground (which will be renamed Aon Training Complex) as well as branding rights to the team's practice jerseys for friendly and domestic games. Aon will also be a presenting partner for the team's annual overseas tour, starting with this summer's Asia tour."They are a great partner and I am very excited about the possibilities for sustainable advantage this provides the club as we build our global presence," said Manchester United's commercial director Richard Arnold.
Aon currently sponsors the soccer club's main jerseys but will be replaced by Chevrolet, at the beginning the 2014-2015 season, after the American car company offered the English Premier League team a seven-year deal worth a record-breaking £357 million ($546,388,500.00 US).
"When we started the first partnership people didn't recognize our name," said Phil Clement, the global chief marketing officer for Aon, to the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC). "We still want to drive our brand but we've hit the awareness goal. Now we want to use the relationship with Manchester United to better engage with our clients."
Manchester United recently bought back the branding rights to their practice jerseys, last October, from courier company, DHL, believing that they had undervalued the worth of their kits. Under the terms of the new deal, Aon will also advise Manchester United on their plans for global expansion as well as provide in-kind services such as player and staff insurance, data analysis, and research.
In return, Aon will be given special access to the 108-acre complex, in which they will be allowed to use the facility to host conferences, seminars, and entertain clients.
"Aon serves clients with unwavering focus on high performance, training and execution," said Arnold, "An approach that mirrors the way we prepare here at Manchester United."

Billboard, Chevrolet to Present First-Ever Milestone Award at 2013 Billboard Music Awards
Billboard and Chevrolet are teaming up to celebrate the ingenuity of this year's hitmakers with the new Milestone Award at the 2013 Billboard Music Awards on Sunday, May 19. Fans can vote for their favorite Milestone artist online and enter a contest to win an opportunity to present the award live at this year’s event alongside Cee Lo Green.
The newly announced editorial award will go to an innovative artist that achieved a notable chart milestone over the past year. The six finalists for the 2013 Milestone Award presented by Chevrolet were announced today on Billboard.com -- they are: Justin Bieber, The Band Perry, Miguel, Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars and Pitbull.
Voting is now open on Billboard.com/milestone. The six finalists will be narrowed down to three finalists, who will be unveiled on the website in mid-April. Voting will then continue all the way through the live Billboard Music Awards broadcast, culminating with the announcement of the award winner toward the end of the show.
"The addition of the Milestone Award gives us the opportunity to recognize truly creative artists that are breaking boundaries with their contribution to today's musical landscape," said Bill Werde, editorial director, Billboard. “These awards are for artists who have created music and accomplishments that are part of history. It's an honor to work with a historic brand like Chevrolet to bring them into focus as part of this year’s Billboard Music Awards."
“This is a perfect opportunity for Chevrolet to bring together two important pieces of its history, ingenuity and music,” said Chris Perry, vice president, Chevrolet Marketing. “The innovation in music today is represented by the nominees for this year’s Milestone Award.”
